Hat Chao Mai National Park HQ and Campground (Hat Chang Lang)

7° 25.4′ N · 99° 20.8′ E

The mainland headquarters area of Hat Chao Mai National Park, a casuarina-shaded campground behind a long white beach with mangroves at its back.

Practical

OpenStreetMap maps the park toll gate (Had Chao Mai NP, 7.4237, 99.3488), the national-park campground (position here), toilets and a car park on road Trang 4008 at Hat Chang Lang, Sikao district. Thai Wikipedia: the park covers about 231 km² of Sikao and Kantang districts, was gazetted on 14 October 1981 as Thailand's 36th national park, and its white beaches run more than 20 km from Hat Pak Meng to Hat Chao Mai with mangrove forest behind the park office. Wikipedia: it is a Ramsar site and an Important Bird Area for large green-pigeons. The park fee charged at the islands is covered under Hat Chao Mai National Park Fee (Trang Islands); fees at the gate are not published in the sources we opened (verify locally). The coast is shallow and open to the west: anchor well off in settled NE-monsoon weather only and land by dinghy near high tide. Position: OpenStreetMap campground node.
