Full Moon Party, Haad Rin

9° 40.6′ N · 100° 4.3′ E · approximate

The world-famous all-night rave on Haad Rin's Sunrise Beach, held every month around the full moon since the mid-1980s and drawing anywhere from 5,000 to 30,000 people.

Practical

Position approximate: on Sunrise Beach (Haad Rin Nok), shoreward of the SE Asia Pilot anchorage. Wikipedia: the party is on the night of the full moon, or one night either side if it falls on a significant Buddhist holiday, and the crowd is 5,000–30,000. The official site (2026 edition) gives a 200 THB entrance fee paid in cash at the beach gate (no advance tickets: online sellers are scams), 9pm to about 7am, around 20,000 people a month and up to 40,000 at New Year, and lists 27 October 2026 (party week 25–29 October). Ferries from Samui stop by early evening and the first boat back is at 6am, and ATMs can run dry, so bring cash. Drug laws are enforced by undercover police and roadblocks; leave valuables aboard. Pre-parties (Jungle, Pool) run on the nights before (Wikivoyage).
