Ao Tao (Turtle Bay)
9° 23.4′ N · 97° 52.8′ E
Tao Bay on Surin Tai's southeast side and the neighbouring Turtle Ridge (Turtle Ledge) are among the Surins' best snorkel and dive spots, with healthy hard corals and frequent turtles.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM-mapped Tao Bay dive site; Turtle Ridge is mapped just south at 9.38927, 97.88186. Both are named by Thai National Parks. Reach them by dinghy from the Surin Tai South anchorage in calm weather. Some reef areas are closed to diving for conservation, so follow ranger marker buoys. Do not stand on coral.
