Ao Mae Yai, Koh Surin Nua
9° 25.5′ N · 97° 51.4′ E · approximate
Mae Yai Bay, the large bay on Surin Nua's southwest side, fringed by the park's best mangroves on mudflats and brackish water, with shallow reef at its mouth.
Practical
Approx: placed in the southwest bay of Surin Nua between Ao Mai Ngam and the inter-island channel. Wikipedia confirms the bay and its mangroves but gives no coordinate, and no mapped point was found, so verify on the park map before using it for navigation. Go by dinghy at mid to high tide; the inner bay is shallow and muddy. Not a yacht anchorage.
Best for
Mangroves and a shallow-reef dinghy snorkel
Season
Mid-October to mid-May
