Turtle Rock Dive

4° 40.5′ S · 55° 32.2′ E · approximate

A collection of granite blocks off Mahé's east coast south of the Ste Anne park, with whitetip and nurse sharks, eagle rays, barracuda, turtles and swim-throughs in under 18 m.

Practical

Approximate: scaled from the numbered site marker on Big Blue Divers' printed dive-site map (2020), georeferenced against the OpenStreetMap outlines of Ste Anne, Moyenne and Ile Cachée; the map is schematic, so treat the pin as within roughly 0.5-1 km. Seyvillas: south of the Ste Anne National Marine Park, up to 18 m; whitetip and nurse sharks, eagle rays, barracudas, jacks, tuna, stingrays, batfish, scorpionfish and stonefish; not recommended in the east (SE) monsoon. Big Blue Divers site 41: 0-18 m, granite rocks with surge and/or current, swim-throughs. Dive with a licensed Seychelles centre (Big Blue Divers lists it as a long-distance boat trip from Beau Vallon); do not anchor a yacht on the rocks.

Best for
