Ile Cachée Nature Reserve and Dive Site

4° 38.4′ S · 55° 30.3′ E

A 2.2 ha islet just southeast of Cerf, classed as a nature reserve for its breeding noddies, with a dive site that SPGA says can only be used in the northwest monsoon.

Practical

Position from OpenStreetMap. At low tide the sand dries and you can walk across from Cerf; at high tide reach it by boat (Wikipedia). Do not land on bird-nesting areas. A granite rock called Zave lies about 100 m to its southwest. The dive site is usable only in the NW monsoon (SPGA); dive with a licensed local centre (diving without a local divemaster is not allowed, per The Moorings).

Best for

Noddy colonies and a NW-season dive

Season

Dive site Nov-Apr (NW monsoon)
