Round Island (Mahé) Anchorage

4° 37.3′ S · 55° 30.1′ E · approximate

A lunch or snorkel stop off the west side of tiny Round Island between Cerf and Moyenne, with green turtles and eagle rays on the reef edge and the resort restaurant ashore by reservation.

Practical

Approximate: placed about 160 m west of Round Island (OpenStreetMap outline); no published waypoint. Round Island is occupied by a hotel and access is restricted (SPGA); Eden Island Marina says you can visit for lunch with a reservation, so call the resort first and never land unannounced. Snorkel the reef edge from the dinghy within park rules. Anchor only on sand in designated areas; park fee SCR 200 per person per day and SCR 250 per yacht overnight (SPGA, 2026). The narrow gaps between Round, Moyenne and Long Island are shallow and reef-fringed: go in good light. Do not confuse with Round Island off Praslin.
