4° 29.9′ S · 55° 12.7′ E · approximate

About a dozen Aldabra giant tortoises roam wild near Grande Barbe, and the Island Conservation Society protects juveniles in an enclosure.

Practical

Pin approx, at Grande Barbe. History: the Nature Protection Trust of Seychelles bred the rediscovered Seychelles (Arnold's/Marion's-type) giant tortoise on Silhouette from 1997, producing 40 juveniles, but was evicted by the Islands Development Company in 2011 and moved the animals to Cousine. Do not feed or ride tortoises.
