Étoile Cay Roseate Terns
5° 53.1′ S · 53° 1.6′ E
A tiny treeless cay on a coral knoll on the western edge of the Amirantes Ridge, one of only a handful of Seychelles nesting sites for the roseate tern, along with sooty terns and brown noddies.
Practical
Uninhabited and protected under the Wild Birds Protection (Nature Reserve) Regulations 1966; leased to IDC for conservation in 2022. Pub. 171 puts it 18 nm NE of Boudeuse on a knoll about 1 nm across. Landing is easy in calm weather but needs IDC permission and must avoid the breeding colonies (SE monsoon). Coordinate is from OpenStreetMap; the Wikipedia infobox coordinate for this cay is wrong.
