5° 45.5′ S · 53° 18.4′ E · approximate
A 750 m causeway across the reef flats links Poivre island to Ile du Sud. It is submerged at high tide and fully exposed at low tide, giving a walk over the flats between the two islands.
Practical
Walk it at low water and wear reef shoes. Watch for stingrays, juvenile turtles and sicklefin lemon sharks on the flats. The small boat channel was enlarged in 2008. Coordinate is approximate: midway between the OpenStreetMap outlines of Poivre and Ile du Sud.
