St Joseph Atoll Lagoon (Tender Visit)
5° 25.7′ S · 53° 20.4′ E
A completely enclosed lagoon ringed by 13 sandy islets and unusually wide reef flats, a few cables east of D'Arros. Multihulls World's Amirantes itinerary makes the lagoon a highlight.
Practical
There is no navigable pass for a yacht: the lagoon drains at low water over a narrow sill, Passe Lerein Fin, at its west end. Maximum depth is 6.4 m and soundings are mostly 2.1-3.7 m. Visit by tender near high water from the D'Arros anchorage, and leave before the ebb strands you. The atoll is uninhabited and managed with D'Arros by the Save Our Seas Foundation, so get permission. Coordinate is the atoll centroid from OpenStreetMap, in the lagoon.
