Denis Island Turtle Nesting
3° 48.7′ S · 55° 40.2′ E · approximate
Hawksbill and green turtles come ashore every year to nest on Denis's protected beaches, and the reef flats are nursery and feeding grounds for young turtles.
Practical
The resort runs early-morning walks to look for fresh nesting tracks. Turtles are legally protected in Seychelles: keep lights off the beach and do not approach nesting females. Coordinate is approximate: plotted on the south-east shore from the OpenStreetMap outline.
