The concrete airstrip that is the gateway to Aldabra: IDC flights bring scientists and visitors here, and a chartered boat then runs about 27 km to Aldabra.
Practical
The runway has been extended to 2,000 m (IDC). SIF cannot arrange the boat from Assumption to Aldabra. An India-backed coastal surveillance radar has operated since 2016, and in 2024 the island was leased for 90 years to a Qatari investment group (Wikipedia).
