A working marina in West Sound with the biggest repair yard in the San Juans and a guest float. West Sound itself is a deep, quiet arm of Orcas surrounded by hills, away from the summer crowds.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM marina. Coast Pilot: about 180 berths; guest moorage on a 250 ft float on the south side; gas, diesel, water, pump-out, 30-ton lift, hull and engine repairs, marine supplies. Avoid submerged pilings about 100 ft south-west of the old sawmill wharf, and Harbor Rock (4 ft high, daybeacon) in mid-channel just inside Massacre Bay. Anchor in 7-12 fathoms (42-72 ft, 13-22 m) anywhere north of Double Island. Call ahead for guest space; rates not confirmed for 2026.
