Vesuvius Bay (Salt Spring Island)
48° 52.7′ N · 123° 34.2′ W
A small bay on Salt Spring's north-west shore, home of the Crofton ferry landing and a little beach that catches the evening sun over Stuart Channel. It is known as one of the sunniest corners of the island.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM beach point. Open to the west and to wash from the Crofton ferry; treat it as a daytime stop in settled weather rather than an overnight anchorage. Check depths on chart 3478/3442. The Vesuvius ferry dock is for ferries only.
Best for
Sunset, a swim, a short daytime stop
Season
