Kanaka Visitors Wharf (Ganges, Salt Spring Island)
48° 51.3′ N · 123° 29.9′ W
The harbour authority's public visitor floats in Ganges outer harbour, protected by a large floating breakwater and a short walk from Mouat's store and the market. Space often frees up during the day.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM outline of the Kanaka floats. Run by the Harbour Authority of Salt Spring Island: VHF 09, phone 250-537-5711. About 425 m (1,400 ft) of visitor moorage with water and 30 amp power; pump-out on the breakwater. Pay the wharfinger, the drop box at the head of the docks or the office. Washrooms and showers at the harbour authority office at Centennial Wharf, about a block away. The 73 m (240 ft) breakwater float takes larger yachts side-tie but moves in wind. Centennial Wharf behind Grace Islet is mostly permanent moorage with a few transient hot berths by request.
