Conover Cove (Wallace Island)

48° 56.2′ N · 123° 32.6′ W

A tiny, snug cove on Wallace Island, a long, low marine park in Houston Passage. A small park dock, an old cabin hung with boat-name boards and trails north and south make it a classic Gulf Islands stop.

Practical

Coordinate is the OSM bay. Room for only three or four boats to stern-tie (rings on shore) plus the small park dock: maximum 11 m (36 ft), C$2 per metre a night; do not use the section reserved for BC Parks. The entrance is shallow at low tide, so watch the tide and come in slowly; reefs and shoals lie all around the island (charts 3442/3463). BC Parks marine fees: buoys C$14 a night (the published Newcastle Island rate; other parks are reported to match) and park docks C$2 per metre a night (published for Newcastle and Wallace Islands). From May 15, 2026 BC Parks adds a C$20 non-resident fee per vessel for buoy or dock use unless someone aboard can show B.C. residency; it is not clear whether that is once per stay or every night. Pit toilets; no drinking water; no campfires. BC Parks bans dumping sewage or grey water while moored in its marine parks. Two private properties on the island: please respect them.
