Clam Bay (Thetis and Penelakut)
48° 59.2′ N · 123° 38.8′ W
A broad bay between the north-east shore of Penelakut and the east side of Thetis, opening onto Trincomali Channel. It is roomy and quiet, and leads to the shallow Cut into Telegraph Harbour.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM bay. Cruisers report good holding, one in about 9 m (30 ft); check depths and the reefs in the entrance on chart 3442/3477. Open to the north-east and east; uncomfortable in a strong southeaster or easterly. The south shore and Penelakut Spit are Penelakut First Nation land: do not land without permission. The Cut to Telegraph Harbour is very shallow; check chart 3477 and the tide before using it.
