Telegraph Harbour (Thetis Island)
48° 58.6′ N · 123° 40.1′ W
A well-protected harbour between Thetis and Penelakut islands, with two marinas, a pub and a relaxed island community. It is a favourite all-weather stop in the northern Gulf Islands.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM bay. Anchor south of the marinas; generally good holding in sand and mud and well protected from strong southerlies. Check depths on chart 3442/3477; the head of the bay near Telegraph Harbour Marina has drying flats. Reach it round the north end of Penelakut from Preedy Harbour; the narrow Cut from Clam Bay between Thetis and Penelakut is very shallow, so check chart 3477 and the tide before trying it. The east shore is Penelakut land: do not land without permission. Pump-out not confirmed here; plan to hold.
