Princess Bay (Portland Island)
48° 43.2′ N · 123° 22.1′ W
A shallow, protected bay at the south end of Portland Island, a park island of forest, shell beaches and a perimeter trail just off Swartz Bay. It holds many boats and is the island's main overnight anchorage.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM bay. Anchor in about 5 m (16 ft); in peak season boats stern-tie to rings on shore to fit more in. There are no buoys. A Parks Canada dinghy dock serves the bay (removed October 1 to May 14). Open to the south; uncomfortable in a southeaster. Twelve first-come backcountry campsites with food cache and pit toilets; no drinking water. The trail around the island is about 8 km (5 miles). Chart 3476/3441.
