Lund Harbour (Malaspina Peninsula)
49° 58.8′ N · 124° 45.7′ W
Lund is the end of Highway 101 and the last road-served harbour before Desolation Sound. A floating concrete breakwater shelters the public docks, with the Lund Resort, a small market, a bakery and a water taxi to Savary all on the boardwalk. Most boats stop here to fuel, pump out and top up before heading north.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM marina point inside the breakwater. Public harbour, open all year, about 1,700 ft (520 m) of breakwater-protected dock. Depth about 2-3 m (7-10 ft) at low water. Enter north of the floating breakwaters. Call on VHF 73 as you approach for a slip assignment; harbour phone 604-483-4711. Sources disagree on reservations: listings say advance reservations are not accepted and rafting is expected on the pleasure-craft dock, so arrive early in July and August. Power is 20, 30 and some 50 amp; the breakwater itself has no power or water and is charged for overnight. Fuel dock, garbage drop above the fuel dock in season, washrooms, showers and laundry. Lund has one of the few holding-tank pump-outs in the area, and BC Parks points Desolation Sound boaters to it. A shoal spot of about 1.2 m (4 ft) lies near the launch ramps. Groceries and liquor at The Stock Pile on the boardwalk.
