Tara Island Anchorage
12° 16.6′ N · 120° 21.6′ E
A glorious little island off northeast Busuanga with a bay that stays flat in the NE monsoon, a friendly village and promising snorkelling; a natural landfall from Mindoro.
Practical
Hackingfamily (Feb): 12 16.57N 120 21.63E in 55 ft (17 m) sand. A reef lies a little SW of the bay and reefs extend south of Tara for over half a mile: do not cut the southern end. Do not go too far into the bay (reefs near shore); a reef on the south side often breaks but does not affect entry. Protected from NE winds with essentially no swell in February. Cell weak on both networks.
Best for
NE-monsoon shelter on arrival from Mindoro
Season
Best in the NE monsoon
