Practical

Dugong Dive Center, El Rio y Mar, San Jose, Coron; +63 920 951 9100, +63 917 866 9877, info@dugongdivecenter.com. The resort has moorings out front; Hackingfamily heard (2022) they come with hefty charges plus a stiff landing charge, partly offset by dining in the restaurant. House reef off the pier with seahorses, mandarin dragonets, jacks and a small wreck (DDC). Mapped in OpenStreetMap at Decalachao. Mooring fees: RCC/Plainsong (2025) took a mooring in the northernmost finger of Port Caltom at 12 11.4N 120 06.1E: PHP 900 per vessel regardless of size; the resort launch guides you in; bar, restaurant, trash disposal, water and fuel on request; good cell signal. Earlier: PHP 500 per night plus a PHP 500 per person per day spend-it-or-lose-it food and drink credit, and PHP 1,000 per person per day for full resort use (Sloepmouche 2017, Soggy Paws 2018). Mokisha (2018) found the moorings had taken most of the anchoring room and the resort objected to anchoring near the dive area. Dugong dives run about 2 hours by boat away (2018).
