Starfish Island Anchorage (Honda Bay)

9° 53.9′ N · 118° 47.7′ E · approximate

A settled-weather stop off the tiny sand cay of Starfish Island in northern Honda Bay, where the shallows are dotted with sea stars and the tour boats moor up for lunch.

Practical

Position approximate: about 300 m southwest of the islet's mapped outline (OpenStreetMap relation 20994159), checked as water against the OSM coastline. No published depths: the island is surrounded by shallow water, so anchor well off on sand and go in by dinghy (shallow all round). About 4.4 nm northeast of Santa Lourdes wharf. Entrance fee PHP 50 in a 2023 guide (verify locally). Leave the starfish in the water. Not to be confused with Starfish Island in Port Barton. Exposed to the east and northeast; daytime stop in light winds.

Best for

A lunch stop and dinghy landing at the Honda Bay starfish shallows

Season

Calm days, Mar-May best; open to the east
