Sea Kayaking to Coron Island

11° 59.0′ N · 120° 13.8′ E

Paddle the 4 km strait from Busuanga to Coron Island's karst walls and slip into coves and inlets the bangka tours never visit, with macaques and kingfishers overhead.

Practical

Start point here is Siete Pecados, where a 2023 visitor rented a kayak (PHP 300 plus PHP 100 entrance) and crossed in about an hour (Contemporary Nomad comments); Wikivoyage: kayaks around PHP 500 at the town boat-loading area including compulsory life vest; about 1 hour across; only in smooth weather. Contemporary Nomad: strong currents and rain squalls; the most spectacular coves lie west of Barracuda Lake toward Twin Lagoon; carry mask and snorkel, and cover up against stinging jellyfish in the inlets. Stay within the Tagbanwa-permitted areas, do not land on closed beaches and be off the island by dark. From a yacht at the Coron Town Anchorage your own kayak or SUP works the same way. Wikivoyage also lists guided mangrove kayak and firefly trips at Kingfisher Park (PHP 500 and PHP 200).
