Pamulaklakin Forest Trail (Aeta Jungle Survival)

14° 48.2′ N · 120° 19.9′ E

Forest trails in the Pastolan area of the Freeport's triple-canopy rainforest, home of the indigenous Aeta, who guide visitors and demonstrate jungle survival skills.

Practical

Pin is the mapped Pamulaklakin Forest Trail (OSM) east of Binictican, toward Pastolan village. Wikipedia lists Pamulaklakin Nature Park as home to the Aeta people. The Lighthouse Legacy Foundation runs Aeta forest ecotours, and SBMA promotes triple-canopy rainforest trails and indigenous culture. Respect Aeta customs (Wikivoyage). Go with a guide. Wet season (roughly Jun-Oct) brings leeches, landslides and flash floods.
