Hingotanan Lagoon Anchorage (Danajon Bank)
10° 14.5′ N · 124° 28.7′ E
An anchorage inside a big tidal reef lagoon between the village islands of Hingotanan off Bien Unido, on the Danajon Bank, the Philippines' only double barrier reef.
Practical
Hacking Family cruising notes: 10 14.54'N 124 28.70'E, 42 ft (about 13 m) over coral rubble. Reefs extend more than a quarter of a mile from the islands, and satellite imagery is almost essential for safe navigation inside the lagoon, which has several reefs. Room for many boats. They suspect better sand bottom lies north-east or south-west of their spot. Good Globe and Smart signal. Both islands are covered with village. Danajon Bank is described as the country's only double barrier reef (philippinedives.com).
