Danajon Outer Reef Anchorage (Northeast Passage)
10° 16.3′ N · 124° 31.2′ E
A settled-weather anchorage on a flat bottom just inside the outer Danajon reef beside the Northeast Passage, surrounded by fishing houses built on the reef.
Practical
Soggy Paws (April 2018, Philippines Compendium): with light winds and settled conditions they anchored just south of the reef, just east of the Northeast Passage, at 10 16.347'N 124 31.202'E in about 32 ft (10 m). The fish-finder showed a flat bottom with some coral spots nearby; without good light they did not go further in. Many fishing houses stand on the reef and fishing bangkas come and go. PGYC advice quoted in the compendium: do not sail around northern Bohol at night because of the many reefs; in daylight they are easy to see.
