Hinagdanan Cave

9° 37.5′ N · 123° 48.1′ E

A naturally lit limestone cave on Panglao. You climb down through a hole about 1 m wide to a green underground lagoon under stalactites, lit by shafts of sun through holes in the roof.

Practical

Cave entrance from OpenStreetMap (Nominatim); Dauis municipality. The cave is about 100 m long; cement steps and a rope rail, slippery. Swimming in the lagoon is no longer advised because tests have found karst pollutants in the water (Wikipedia). Entry fee about PHP 50 (Wikivoyage, 2016; verify locally). Reach it by bus or minivan from Tagbilaran towards Panglao and ask for the Hinagdanan stop.

Best for

A cool half-hour detour on a Panglao land day
