Bingag Anchorage (Panglao North Coast)

9° 37.8′ N · 123° 48.3′ E · approximate

A north-coast roadstead off Bingag, Dauis, below Hinagdanan Cave and next to the Bingag Marine Sanctuary, sheltered from the south-west monsoon by Panglao itself.

Practical

Position approx: placed about 340 m off the Bingag shore (OSM: Bingag barangay 9.6207N 123.8054E; Panglao Island Nature Resort beach 9.6254N 123.8035E) and checked as open water on the OpenStreetMap coastline. We found no published yacht depths or holding here: sound in. Keep well east of the Bingag Marine Sanctuary (OSM 9.6255N 123.7979E): no anchoring or fishing in sanctuaries. The north coast faces Maribojoc Bay and the Cebu Strait, so it is a lee in the south-west monsoon (philippinedives.com notes operators favour Panglao's north-coast sites then) and exposed to the north-east monsoon. Hinagdanan Cave is a short walk from the shore; Napaling Reef sardine run is about 3.5 km west.
