Boquete Bay Anchorage

13° 30.6′ N · 120° 57.0′ E · approximate

The other permitted anchorage inside Puerto Galera harbour, off Boquete (Paniquian) Island - a near-island tied to the mainland by a 50 m white sandbar that floods at high tide. Short dinghy hop to town and the yacht club.

Practical

Position approx: the Kraken Yachts reader anchorage (13 30.621N 120 57.016E, 'good holding in mud', recommending Boquete or Dalaruan Bay) lies in the bay inside Boquete Island; verify the exact anchoring limits with PGYC. Noonsite and PGYC both list Boquete Bay as a permitted anchorage; avoid coral and giant clams. Muelle Bay to the south is moorings-only. The sandbar ('Elizabeth's Hideaway') and Boquete Beach are used for windsurfing (PGYC; a 2012 blog places windsurfing at the sandbar near Poblacion). Depths not published - sound in. PGYC's 2025 Easter Regatta notice names the 'Boquete Sandbar' and Dalaruan Bay as the alternative anchorages when club moorings are full.
