Bonbonon Cruiser Buffets (Arlene's, Emma's, Bruce's)
9° 3.4′ N · 123° 7.5′ E · approximate
The weekly buffet nights run by locals and expats around Tambobo Bay, the social glue of Bonbonon's live-aboard community.
Practical
Position approx: the Bonbonon anchorage position (Woods, 2014); the cafes are around the bay's west and north shores. Solita (2012, Philippines Compendium): Arlene and Boy's cafe does a Friday-night buffet (PHP 170 then), a la carte at other times, boat cleaning and gear storage, and organises habal-habal rides; their long dock at the north-west corner of the bay takes dinghies when you go to town. Bruce's terraced garden home at the head of the bay does a Sunday all-you-can-eat buffet (PHP 200) and has a swap library and well water. Emma's cafe on the west side does a Wednesday buffet (PHP 180). Woods (2014): three local eateries each serve a weekly buffet. Prices are from 2012: verify locally.
