Big Lagoon (Miniloc)

11° 9.3′ N · 119° 19.3′ E

El Nido's signature: a shallow, glass-clear entrance opening into a vast lagoon ringed by sheer black limestone walls, deepening to emerald as you paddle in.

Practical

OpenStreetMap position. Motorised boats are not allowed in; boats anchor/moor at the mouth and you kayak or swim in (kayaks mandatory per tour guides). Fees (2026): Big Lagoon ticket PHP 200 per person plus the El Nido ETDF; two-seat kayak PHP 300-400 per kayak. Daily visitor caps set by the protected area management board - accredited agencies must book slots in advance, and you can't do Big and Small Lagoon on the same day. Entrance channel is shallow enough to stand in at most tides with a mild current at some states of tide; the full length is nearly 0.5 nm. Reef-safe sunscreen only; don't stand on coral. Go early to beat the Tour A fleets.
