Anilao Ferry Pier Anchorage
13° 45.7′ N · 120° 55.5′ E · approximate
The one place yachts are told to anchor on the Anilao coast: off the ferry pier at the north end, from where the dive resorts to the south are reached by dinghy or road.
Practical
Position approx: placed just off OSM 'Anilao Port' parking area (13.76067N 120.9268E); no published coordinate or depth - sound in and keep clear of the ferry and bangka traffic. Sail The Philippines (Luzon): anchoring is prohibited along most of the Anilao coast to protect the coral; most resorts have moorings you can use with permission; otherwise anchor near the ferry pier at the north end. Balayan Bay gets a predictable NE breeze in the NE monsoon and SW breeze in the SW monsoon; the Philippine Olympic windsurfing team trains about a mile south of the pier. Maricaban Island protects Anilao from the south. About 15 NM north of Puerto Galera (straight line, computed). Marine sanctuaries along the coast charge diver/environmental fees (see Twin Rocks Marine Sanctuary). No marina, fuel dock or chandlery in Anilao - the nearest yacht marinas are Punta Fuego and Maya-Maya at Nasugbu (see Subic and Manila Bay subregion).
