San Blas Town Dinghy Landing (Muelle de San Blas)
21° 32.5′ N · 105° 17.5′ W
The renovated municipal pier and waterfront in the San Blas estuary, a few blocks from the plaza. It's the shore access for boats anchored at El Pozo, and the Port Captain's office is a short walk away.
Practical
Noonsite (2016) describes the Port Captain's office as a short distance along the road from 'Pepe's dinghy landing' (turn right). Ask other cruisers or the marina whether that private landing still operates (verify locally). The waterfront has a cluster of piers. OpenStreetMap maps the municipal Muelle de San Blas, a separate Port Captain pier (Muelle Capitanía del Puerto) just south of it, and a tourist pier (Muelle de Turismo) that's used by Islas Marías ferries, Marietas excursion boats and surf pangas. Don't leave the dinghy where it blocks ferry or panga berths. Noonsite says there's often a 3-knot current through the estuary, so approach the landing up-current and tie off with enough painter for the tide. The Pemex fuel pier is about 100 m north. The alternative is to tie up at Marina Fonatur if you take a slip or ask for dinghy access. Jejenes (no-see-ums) are fierce at dusk, so plan to be back aboard with screens up before sunset. Coordinate is the Muelle de San Blas (Wikivoyage).
