Marina Fonatur San Blas and Marina Seca
21° 32.6′ N · 105° 17.6′ W
A small, government-run (Fonatur) marina on the San Blas estuary, beside the commercial fishing docks. It's quieter than the busy estuary anchorage, and the base for leaving a boat in San Blas.
Practical
Riviera Nayarit tourism describes the marina as berthing up to 17 boats up to 40 ft. Noonsite (2016): the marina offers a free pilot service across the bar and monitors VHF 74, though cruisers report it rarely answers, so phone if you speak Spanish. There's a sand bar just west of the green markers leading into the marina, so stay close to the commercial docks, which are regularly dredged for the fishing fleet. Staff speak Spanish only. Ask for the 3-page English cruiser-written guide with a town map. Following Hurricane Lidia (October 2023), expect possible hurricane damage to docks and limited berths. Dry storage (marina seca): no current details found online, so ask the marina directly. Coordinate is the OpenStreetMap 'Marina pier'.
