Playa Colomitos Snorkel
20° 30.7′ N · 105° 19.5′ W
The emerald, cliff-walled cove billed as Mexico's smallest beach is a reliable easy snorkel, with pufferfish, angelfish, damselfish and the odd ray or turtle.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM polygon for Playa Colomitos. Ecotours Vallarta's hike-and-snorkel trip (from USD 90 adult in 2026) walks about 3 miles each way on the coastal trail from Boca de Tomatlán and snorkels the cove; pufferfish, angelfish, damselfish and sea urchins are common, rays and turtles possible. Five minutes by water taxi from Boca. Too small to anchor a yacht; dinghy in only in flat calm. No services.
Best for
Easy snorkel on the Boca de Tomatlán coastal hike
Season
Year-round; clearest Nov–May
