The cove where John Huston filmed The Night of the Iguana in 1963, the movie that put Puerto Vallarta on the map. The film-set ruins still climb the south hillside, and the beach looks straight out at Los Arcos.

Coordinate is the OSM node for Playa Mismaloya. Fishing village with beach restaurants, boat rentals and pangas to Los Arcos; a new pier and a 350 m linear park opened in April 2026 (MXN 80 million project) as a water-taxi stop between Los Muertos, Boca de Tomatlán and Las Ánimas. Sea temperature about 23 C in March to 30 C in August (Wikipedia). Reachable by the white-and-orange Mismaloya bus from the Zona Romántica.
