Majahuitas Snorkel Cove
20° 30.4′ N · 105° 23.6′ W
A string of tiny boat-access-only coves between Quimixto and Yelapa with sand and rock bottoms, garden eels, rays, morays and reef fish in calm, clear water. One of the most sheltered snorkels on the south shore.
Practical
Coordinate is PADI's site position for Majahuitas. Calm water inside the coves suits beginners; outside the coves the current can run (divers sometimes drift a mile). Vallarta Adventures' catamaran snorkel tour stops here (USD 139 adult in 2024). The Majahuitas Beach Club ashore is private and reservation-only, so snorkel from the dinghy rather than landing. No recognised yacht anchorage is documented; visit by dinghy from Yelapa or Quimixto, or stand off in calm morning conditions. See also 'Majahuitas Dive and Snorkel' and 'Majahuitas' (beach).
Best for
Calm-water beginner snorkel from the dinghy
