Majahuitas Dive and Snorkel
20° 30.4′ N · 105° 23.6′ W
A string of tiny, boat-access-only coves west of Las Caletas, with sand and rock bottoms, garden eels, rays and turtles. Calm water for beginners, plus an occasional mile-long drift dive outside the coves.
Practical
Coordinate is PADI's dive-site position for Majahuitas (20.50667, -105.39296). Shore-line dives along the coves; divers sometimes drift a mile once outside the coves' protection (PADI). It is about 45 minutes by dive boat from Marina Vallarta (Ecotours, USD 160, no year stated, verify locally). Good snorkelling from a dinghy in the calm morning. The Majahuitas resort beach is private.
