Los Pilares South Point Snorkel
26° 53.1′ N · 111° 47.8′ W
The rocks at the south end of Ensenada Los Pilares and around its south point (Punta El Gato) are 'loaded with fish', including leopard grouper of every size — the best snorkel stop on the outside of Bahía Concepción.
Practical
Coordinate is Punta El Gato, the bay's south point, from OpenStreetMap. Anchor near the middle of the bay in 10–15 ft sand (room for 2–3 boats; much of the bay is rock); avoid hugging either entrance point. East winds wrap swell around the point. Seasonal fishing camp ashore.
Best for
A fishy snorkel break on the outside run
