Bahía Santo Domingo Anchorage
26° 52.1′ N · 111° 50.8′ W
The natural staging cove at the mouth of Bahía Concepción, tucked inside the peninsula's northern point with a fisherman's house and a light on the point — the first or last stop for boats entering or leaving the bay.
Practical
Sand at 10-15 ft; the cove shoals quickly so you will lie well off the beach. Excellent protection from SE, decent from N (tuck into the north end in a norther); some rock slabs, so watch where the hook goes down. Give the points at the north end of the peninsula wide berth for offlying rocks and odd currents, and stand 1/4 nm off the northern point of the cove. Rounding the point, gusts of 25+ kn can come off the land. Solid cell signal — the first northbound since Loreto. Shelling beach and short trails ashore. No services.
Best for
Staging in or out of Bahía Concepción with cell signal
Season
Year-round; best in SE winds
