Isla del Coral Snorkel
21° 2.8′ N · 105° 16.3′ W · approximate
A small protected island in Jaltemba Bay, about a mile off Rincón de Guayabitos. Its clear water and schools of reef fish make it a natural aquarium, and it doubles as a bird-watching spot for pelicans and blue-footed boobies.
Practical
Glass-bottom and tour pangas run from Guayabitos beach in under 10 minutes, offering snorkeling, swimming and paddleboarding. Neighboring Isla Cangrejito is a smaller islet closer to shore. The island is a protected natural area (OpenStreetMap), so take nothing. With your own boat, visit in calm conditions only, and watch for the tour pangas and swimmers. Coordinate is derived from the OpenStreetMap island outline, just off its southeast side, and is not a surveyed anchorage.
Best for
Easy snorkel and birdlife
