Danzante Reef Dive Site

25° 45.3′ N · 111° 14.4′ W

A reef south of Isla Danzante with walls covered in soft corals and sea fans and many large fish—one of a cruising diver's prettiest dives of the season.

Practical

Coordinate is the dive position (25°45.29'N, 111°14.41'W) given by the yacht BlueJacket's May 2012 log; it may be the same structure local operators call Piedra Submarino (listed separately here from a different source). Visibility was poor and water cold that day. Currents at Danzante's south end are too strong to swim against—time the dive for slack water and leave someone in the tender. A small islet off the south end gives boulders at 30-40 ft with small to medium fish, and deeper walls to its south-east. CONANP protected-area fee applies: a Loreto Bay National Park day pass (bracelet) was MX$215 per person in 2025, and the annual Conservation Passport (MX$3,620 in 2025) covers every federal protected area; buy online at descubreanp.conanp.gob.mx or from the rangers at La Dársena in Loreto, and carry proof aboard.
