Caleta El Mezteño

24° 30.9′ N · 110° 23.5′ W · approximate

A tiny cove just around the corner north of El Candelero, walled by high cliffs, with room for only one or two boats and a private white-sand beach.

Practical

Coordinate is approximate: a water point in the small cove north of El Candelero, checked against the OpenStreetMap coastline (the Baja Expeditions eco-camp beach mapped at 24.5161 N, 110.3874 W is nearby). Baja by Sea: room for one or two small or medium boats, high cliffs shelter it from north winds, shallow water and a white beach at the head. A cruising couple had it to themselves for four days in a norther. Open to the west and to the Coromuel. Inside Archipiélago Espíritu Santo National Park: every person aboard needs the daily CONANP bracelet (225 MXN/person/day on the CONANP page) or an annual Conservation Passport.
