Landmark· Isla Magdalena· Mexico
Cabo San Lázaro
24° 47.6′ N · 112° 18.1′ W
The lighted, mountainous north-west corner of Isla Magdalena - a blind corner that marks the turn into Bahía Santa María and the start of the Magdalena Bay barrier islands.
Practical
Lighthouse position from GeoNames. The Log's waypoint 5 nm off the light is 24 44.45' N 112 22.43' W (the article prints 22 44.45' N, an evident typo). Watch for cruise ships rounding at 15 knots. Excellent fishing over the Thetis Banks en route from Bahía Asunción; from San Lázaro a straight course of about 130 nm leads to a point 4 nm off Cabo Falso.
