Banjercito TIP Office (Pichilingue Ferry Terminal)

24° 16.5′ N · 110° 19.6′ W

The military bank's window inside the Pichilingue ferry terminal, 10 nm north of downtown, is where La Paz cruisers get, renew or cancel a Temporary Import Permit (TIP) for the boat.

Practical

Position is the Pichilingue ferry terminal in OpenStreetMap. The office is inside the terminal building (renewals at the far right as you face it); take the bus from the Malecón bus station or a taxi. Hours quoted by Club Cruceros (undated, verify locally): Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat 7:00 am-3:00 pm; Tue and Thu 7:00 am-6:00 pm; Sun 8:30 am-4:30 pm; a renewal note gives 9:00 am start. Cost about USD 60 (verify locally); pay in pesos, dollars or card. Bring passport, immigration document, boat registration/documentation, hull ID number, engine and outboard serial numbers and dinghy proof; for renewals bring the old TIP. One TIP per boat in the owner's name. A 2026 marina-association guide says TIPs issued from April 1, 2026 are valid 5 years with multiple entries and can be applied for online 7-60 days before arrival at banjercito.com.mx (older TIPs were 10-year). You must cancel the TIP in person at a Banjercito office when the boat leaves Mexico for good.
