Bahías de Huatulco International Airport (HUX)
15° 46.5′ N · 96° 15.8′ W
Huatulco's small open-air palapa airport, 10-20 minutes by road from La Crucecita, Santa Cruz and Tangolunda: the crew-change airport for the southern Mexico coast.
Practical
Position from Wikipedia (IATA HUX, ICAO MMBT). Year-round flights to Mexico City (Aeroméxico, Viva, Volaris), Guadalajara and Puebla (Volaris), Monterrey (Viva) and Oaxaca (Aerotucán, Aerovega); seasonal Air Canada, WestJet, American Eagle (Dallas/Fort Worth) and TAG (Guatemala City). 801,803 passengers in 2025. Authorized airport taxis cost more; walking about 500 m to the main road gets a cheaper taxi or a local bus (about 20 MXN in 2024, no room for big luggage) (Wikivoyage).
