Acapulco Club de Yates

16° 50.2′ N · 99° 54.3′ W

The historic Acapulco Yacht Club at the west end of the bay, home of the local racing fleet, with a pool, dry storage and elegant clubhouse; transient space is scarce.

Practical

Position is the OpenStreetMap node for the Club de Yates. In 2012 it was so popular with local boats that visitors seldom found room; a haul-out quoted at nearly $600 US; fuel had to be booked a day or two in advance via the Harbor Master, who issued a temporary club card for the dinghy dock and pool (prices old: verify locally). The bay's concrete fuel dock is short with little turning room and no rub rails; in Feb 2026 S/V Some Tuesday waited about 30 minutes for a turn and paid 8,829 MXN for 293 liters of diesel (about US$6.61/gal). Rig plenty of fenders. A chandlery, Servicios Marítimos de Acapulco, stocks boat parts (noforeignland). Call ahead on VHF 16. Racing fleets sail on the bay most weekends.
