Trou a Diable
15° 57.0′ N · 61° 14.6′ W · approximate
A cave in Marie-Galante's limestone plateau, known locally as the Trou à Diable ('devil's hole'), off a country lane in the centre-east of the island.
Practical
Position approx: the OSM lane named 'Chemin du Trou à Diable'; the cave itself is not mapped. French Wikipedia lists 'Trou au Diable' as a cavity on Marie-Galante and Wikimedia Commons holds photos of it. Access arrangements, safety and whether a guide is required could not be confirmed - ask the Marie-Galante tourist office (tel 0590 97 56 51) before going; do not enter a cave without proper lights and local advice.
